Steel Sealant
Even with the most precise engineering, the surface of any steel object is a mass of irregularities at the microscopic level. It’s these uneven surfaces that provide a foothold for corrosion. As a metal sealant, Coretrate™ penetrates into steel up to 50% of the depth and chemically binds with the many free ions to fill in the voids between molecules and create a smoother surface, thus preventing access by corrosive materials.

In addition, to acting as a steel sealant, Coretrate hardens steel to help prevent against wear and abrasive damage. Coretrate also gives carbon steel the same properties of stainless steel making working with the steel easier and less expensive. In addition, certain Coretrate formulas provide high reflectivity (surface sheen) that beautifies the substrate to which it is applied.
For steel used in moving parts, Coretrate creates lubricity within the metal to reduce friction. In addition, Coretrate itself has a very high friction co-efficient and is twice as slippery as Teflon.
