Engine Testing Results

In an independent engine testing lab study, applying Coretrate™ to engine parts was found to significantly increase lubricity power while decreasing oil temperature and reducing emissions.

The engine test involved two Briggs and Stratton 8.75 Intek engines that were disassembled and treated with Coretrate. After curing, the engines were reassembled and run through a series of tests against a control group: two identical untreated engines. The engines data was gathered at idle, 3000-RPM steady state, 3500-RPM steady state and a 4000-RPM steady state.

Engines

  • Four Briggs and Stratton 8.75 Intek engines, each broken in for a period of three hours
  • Fuel was 87-octane oxygenated gasoline
  • Oil used was Valvoline 30 weight, recommended by the manufacturer

Diagnostic Equipment

  • Stuska Hydraulic Dyno
  • Superflow 901
  • Single four-gas emissions analyzer and air fuel ratio sensor and data acquisition

Engine Test Data

As a result of reduced friction, tests showed  engine power was significantly increased 6-9% for each of the two engines and oil temperatures decreased 7-10%. Also, there was a modest reduction of CO and CO2 emissions.
